Nomichi Hashimura Katakuchi Sake Server Glass

Description

Daisaku and Nomichi Hashimura make Hand-blown glass with cracking details and decoratives. For decorative pieces, first Daisaku blows glass to make shape and then Nomichi add decoration on top of it. At the end, sand its surface to have matte texture. Each time she adds decoration, mixture of ingredients and colors are different making it one of a kind interesting piece.

Daisaku and Nomichi live and make glassworks in Manazuru, beautiful coast looking out to Pacific ocean. It is one of the most beautiful place in Japan that I hope to live in the future.

Katakuchi is often used for cold sake saucer. You might imagine sake saucer is Tokkuri (vase like shape), but Tokkuri is in fact used for hot sake whereas katakuchi is for cold sake. Katakuchi is also practical and good hygiene because its inside can be washed completely.
