Made from first-flush tea leaves harvested in spring, this premium hojicha is carefully roasted to bring out its distinctive fragrance and smooth flavor. It is roasted more strongly than ordinary hojicha, creating a lovely toasted aroma with a clean, refreshing taste and very little bitterness.

The tea is grown without agricultural pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Cha no Miyagura holds Organic JAS certification for its organic agricultural products and processed foods. Only first-flush leaves harvested from tea fields that have been managed organically for at least three consecutive years are used.

Hojicha naturally contains less caffeine than many other types of green tea, making it a popular choice for those who prefer a milder tea.
