Since its founding in 1972, TEA FACTORY GEN is a tea atelier based in the Sera Highlands of Hiroshima, Japan.
They honor nature and tradition, producing tea through a fully integrated process using no chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
Ultimate Everyday Tea
TEA FACTORY GEN is both a tea producer and the operator of the tea stand Gen Yamate.
They not only serve tea grown in their own fields but also carefully select and offer teas cultivated by dedicated farmers across Japan, driven by their desire to bring tea closer to everyday life.
What they aim to offer is the “ultimate everyday tea.”
A tea that never grows tiresome, even when enjoyed daily—one that gently soothes the heart.
At times, it may surprise, delight, or bring new awareness. It’s a special kind of tea that quietly enhances everyday moments.
Ehime Yabukita Genmaicha
"Waki Tea Farm" began cultivating tea in the Shingū region of Shikoku around 80 years ago and have since become a pioneering presence among Shikoku’s tea farmers—so well known that nearly everyone in the tea industry recognizes their name.
The mountainous terrain of Shikoku, once home to many wild tea plants, offers an ideal environment for tea cultivation.
This genmaicha is a premium blend that includes high-quality sencha, picked early in the season and carefully processed—a type of tea not commonly used in typical genmaicha.
The result is a beautifully balanced tea with the rich, toasty aroma of roasted rice and the elegant, refined fragrance characteristic of fine sencha.
Not only is it delightful when enjoyed on its own, but it also pairs perfectly with dishes like ochazuke (tea over rice) or can be sprinkled as a flavorful topping.
