Born in 1978 in Tajimi, Gifu, Tatsuya Hattori creates refined, contemporary tableware that harmonizes beauty and functionality. A graduate of the Tajimi City Ceramic Design Institute, he now works from his studio in Toki, Gifu — the historic heart of Japanese ceramics.
Hattori’s works are characterized by their quiet elegance, delicate forms, and subtle tonal variations of glaze. Each piece reflects a deep sensitivity to proportion, touch, and daily use — embodying a balance between craftsmanship and modern simplicity. Through careful control of materials and firing, he creates vessels that feel timeless, inviting a calm and contemplative presence to the table.
