Based in Mizunami, Gifu, Japan, ceramic artist Tetsuya Hioki explores the natural dialogue between clay, fire, and time. Working also as a clay craftsman, he engages deeply with the raw materials that form the foundation of his art. His works reveal the inherent character of earth itself — textures, tones, and transformations born through firing. Rooted in material honesty and quiet observation, Hioki’s ceramics embody both the memory and vitality of the land.
