Ichiro Mori works in Bizen, one of JapanÕs most storied pottery regions, where the tradition of wood firing continues to be practiced with deep dedication. Originally trained as a sculptor, Mori approaches clay with a strong sense of form, balance, and surface, giving his work a quiet yet powerful presence.He fires his wood-fired kiln twice a year alongside his father, also a potter, continuing a shared commitment to the demanding rhythm of Bizen ceramics. Working in the yakishime tradition, Mori uses no glazeÑonly clay transformed through fire, ash, and timeÑallowing each piece to emerge with its own natural character and intensity..
