Yusuke Wakasa Guinomi Sake Cup with Platinum

Yusuke Wakasa is a ceramic artist based in Etajima, Hiroshima, where he creates pottery inspired by the quiet beauty of the Seto Inland Sea. After studying ceramics and training under master potter Masayuki Imai, he established his own studio and gallery, 10 Sanji, in a renovated traditional Japanese home. Wakasa is known for his thoughtful exploration of color, texture, and form, often developing original glazes using ash made from local trees such as olive, fig, and citrus. Working with both gas and wood firing, he creates vessels that balance sculptural presence with everyday functionality, reflecting the changing landscapes and seasons of the island he calls home.
