Yuichi Takemata Muddler Spoon
Yuichi Takemata Muddler Spoon
Yuichi Takemata, based in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a master metalworker who crafts bespoke jewelry while also creating everyday items like cutlery. Using the traditional metalworking technique of hammering metal sheets into shape, his original cutlery pieces produce a pleasant "kan-kan-kan" sound during their creation, embodying elegance in every detail.
Takemata's notable work includes the "Ryo" series, designed by Osamu Saruyama and pressed by Tasaki Metal in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture. These pieces are finished by Takemata with an antique look, using molds from the early days of Western tableware importation to Japan.
Both collections stand out for their refined, understated presence, seamlessly blending into tables adorned with Japanese ceramics and antique tableware, enhancing the dining experience with their subtle beauty and craftsmanship.
